DESCRIPTION:For our last wine tasting of the season before the hot summer hits us all and some disappear to homes in cooler locations\, I present you with a wonderful treat…a visit to a winery called Mas Fuertes in Corca\, just north of La Bisbal. \nIn 2005\, a Dutch family discovered the beautiful Empordà region and started their dream vineyard with stunning sea views. What began as a small wine project grew into a flourishing business. Mas Fuertes now offers an extensive range of organic red and white wines\, 100% cold-pressed organic Argudell olive oil\, and organic honey from 3 million bees. The nvineyard retains its ethnci charm through charm manual picking of the grapes and olives along with conventional honey production. Organic methods are applied in the vineyards without synthetic chemicals and the wines are naturally fermented. At Mas Fuertes\, tradition goes hand in hand with innovation. Every aspect of the estate reflects the family’s values\, including the labels designed by their youngest daughter. This is your chance to discover the wines of Mas Fuertes and taste the dedication\, craftsmanship\, and love for nature. \nOur wine tasting will depend largely on how many of our membership come to the event…the more\, the merrier (literally) as we will benefit form economies of scale…so please support the event if you can. However\, generally\, the tasting will include: \n\nA guided tasting of 2-3 extra virgin olive oils\nA guided wine tasting.\nA tasting of 2 artisanal honeys\nA selection of local snacks and accompaniments\n\nWhat makes the experience particularly special is that it offers the opportunity to discover three authentic products of the Empordà – olive oil\, wine and honey – in a single tasting…. and all crafted by the same family estate. \nThe price is €40 per person.

SUMMARY:Padel Group Monthly Session
DESCRIPTION:The June monthly Padel Group session will be held on Friday June 26 from 9.30am for 90 minutes. As an experiment\, we are having two venues this time – a North and a South. The North one\, aimed at people living north of Palafrugell\, will be at Serres de Pals Sports Club. The Southern one\, aimed at those living south of Palafrugell\, will be at Club Tennis Calonge. Those people living in the Palafrugell area can opt for either venue. \nThe aim is to even out player numbers and cut travelling times. I will organise the Northern one and Steve Martin will handle the Southern one. \nThe sessions are not just for people who know how to play padel. Even if you are a complete beginner\, come along. You will have a chance to learn the rules of the game and to have a hit in a friendly\, non-competitive way. Padel is much easier to play than tennis. There are no overhead serves and it is played on a much smaller court. \nThose attending should wear suitable sportswear and bring a hat\, sunglasses and sun lotion and water as it is likely to be hot. Also bring some cash if you need to hire rackets at the clubs. I also have three spare rackets that people can borrow. The cost is six euros per person at Serres de Pals. \nPlease can you also indicate in the Meals Section with an N for North or an S for South which venue you want to play out. This is so that we know how many courts to book. There will be a maximum of 20 players at Serres de Pals. \nI suggest we meet at 9-9-15am in order to organise playing groups. Coffee/drinks are available to buy at the clubhouses. We hope to see as many of you as possible on the day. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Manfred and Christinas circular ride from Torroella de Montgri
DESCRIPTION:From the starting point\, follow the river Ter to Gualta\, then continue via Fontanilles and Fontclara toPalau-Sator (coffee break).   The tour then poceeds via Peratallada andSant Feliu de Boada\, turning right onto the C31 just before Sant Julia de Boada.   Cross the C31 and ride along it for approx 300 mts (excercise caution when crossing the C31)  After this 300 mts stretch\, turn right onto a dirt track that runs alongside meadows and fields to a small footbridge (bicycles must be pushed across this bridge).Passing Mas Pinell\, the tour leads to La Gola del Ter. Finally follow the river to the Triton Restaurant.   The circuit is approx 34 Kms long.   It is a leisurly\, mostly flat route with only slight inclines\, consisting of paved back roads and a few farm tracks (some sections have been filled with gravel due to rainfall\, so you might occasionally need to push your bike.
